CAASE is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our annual Race for CAASE on Sunday, July 23rd 2017 as part of the Big Ten Network's Big 10K event. Located in beautiful Grant Park, the race will have an option for every runner: a 10K, 5K, and kids' 5K competition.
Every year, our Race for CAASE helps fund our prevention education program. This year, we're excited to share that we've launched a new branch of our prevention education that focuses on college campuses. The Students Working to End Exploitation and Trafficking (S.W.E.E.T.) program is specifically designed to equip and empower men on college campuses to change the culture that perpetuates demand for commercial sex.
Everyone of all ages are encouraged to join us for what will be an exciting and memorable event! All of our participants will celebrate their 5K or 10K feat at the Fan Fest after the race. Packed with mascots, cheerleaders, food, music, beer, interactive games, exciting prizes, Big Ten player appearances and more!
*One in 5 women will be raped at some point in their lives ( National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, 2011); one in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused before they turn 18 years old, (Finkelhor, D., Hotaling, G., Lewis, I. A., & Smith, C., Child Abuse & Neglect 14, 1990).
Parking is available in Busse Woods on a first come first serve basis. The start of the race is near the boat ramp and the south pool. For a full event schedule, click here.
