Marion Brooks (Emcee) is an award winning anchor and reporter at NBC5 Chicago. She anchors the NBC5 News at 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each weekday and is a member of the NBC5 Investigates team of investigative reporters. Brooks’ passion is reporting and storytelling and in her investigative work she has been drawn to social and criminal justice issues. Her series of reports on Sex Trafficking in Chicago in 2014 earned several awards including national recognition from the Alliance for Women in Media (Gracie) and a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
Robin Robinson is an award winning journalist and respected Chicago broadcaster who has covered significant issues, events and people in the region for more than 3 decades. Her passion is for connecting people to their common interests, and empowering them with new perspectives and voices. With interests far beyond the news of the day, Robin's reputation for genuine caring and involvement has forged authentic relationships across the city - built upon truth, trust and action.
Active in many community initiatives, Robin is currently working with the Chicago Police Department building trust to forge new relationships and operational realities between the people in law enforcement and the residents they must collaborate with to stem the epidemic of violence plaguing the city.
Devon Herrick grew up in Chicago and Evanston and attended Emory University, majored in English and Political Science. He started in public education as an English Teacher in Houston, Texas and later pursued Master's in Counseling and worked as a counselor in Chicago area (New Trier and CPS). Devon spent the last 7 years as a counselor, teacher, and administrator at the Englewood and Bronzeville campuses of Urban Prep Academies. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Devon was also recently admitted to the Chicago Leadership Collaborative as a Resident Principal, where he will serve as a member of the administrative team at Hancock College Prep, a CPS selective enrollment school on the Southwest side, for the 2016-17 school year.
Ireon Roach is a rising senior at Senn Arts High School where she is a founding member of The Yard Theatre Company. Belonging to institutions such as ATC Youth Ensemble and Writers Theatre Youth Council, she has submerged herself in the art of theatre as a tool of dialogue in societal interactions. Ireon is also your 2016 Chicago Louder Than A Bomb Indy Poet and August Wilson Monologue Competition finalist.
